Meet our Novices

Sr. M. Giorgiana first met our Sisters through NET Ministries training and before entrance, she taught American Sign Language as a foreign language in a large public high school north of Austin. She earned a degree from Stephen F. Austin in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Studies. A fun fact about her is that she grew up 5 minutes away from NASA (and one of her good friends is the 100th flight Director, ever)!

"What I love about our community is how there is an 'FSGM' way to do things. We are the 'see a need, fill a need' community. You will often find us fetch things, setting things up, putting things away, etc. all before it's asked. The best part is that we do it with joy. As a community we serve the Lord with such joy and that is the essence of making 'His Merciful Love visible'"

Sr. Mary Paul graduated from Marian University in Indianapolis, IN and studied Art History and Theology during her time there. She met our community through a friend and prior to entering, she worked in a variety of roles that focused on customer service and management. A fun fact about Sr. Mary Paul is that she's traveled to Europe 3 times!

"When I was discerning Religious Life, our Charism and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus helped draw me on - the wide variety of our apostolates and Sisters of all ages, were also attractive. My religious name was given to me from the Holy Spirit and it reminds me to live in the light of Christ and preach the truth- because I received such mercy in the gift of this vocation."

Sr. Stana Maria studied Agricultural Leadership at Oklahoma State University, where she first met our Sisters through a FOCUS missionary on her college campus. Soon after graduating, she entered our community in 2020. She is also able to play "Jingle Bells" on the guitar, melodica, and tambourine all at the same time (it's true- we've witnessed it)!

"At the age of 1, I was adopted from China. 8 months later my adoptive mom passed away, which led me to being raised by my aunt and uncle (who adopted me) in Oklahoma. I am named after Blessed Stanley Rother- a priest, missionary, and martyr from Oklahoma.

He was an ordinary man who grew up on a farm and said yes to the Lord in simplicity. He had a heart for his flock in Guatemala and loved his people as a parent would love their adopted child until the end. Please pray for me through Blessed Stanley Rother as I strive to do God's will in simplicity."
